John Mark Rainey

John Mark Rainey is a renowned artist with a diverse background in education and the arts. His journey started in South Central Mississippi, where his passion for both education and creativity was evident from a young age. After serving in the US Air Force, Rainey pursued a BFA in Art Education from the University of Southern Mississippi, which laid the foundation for his artistic career. His artistic journey continued as he became an art teacher in the Saginaw Michigan Public Schools, where he dedicated himself to nurturing young talents for four years. Rainey furthered his education by obtaining a Master`s degree in Educational Administration from Central Michigan University, which opened doors to various administrative roles within the Saginaw Public Schools. In 1990, Rainey`s leadership skills led him to the position of Executive Director at KRESA, where he co-chaired the Kalamazoo County Education For the Arts initiative, highlighting his commitment to fostering the arts within the community. Even after retiring in 2004, Rainey continued to share his knowledge as a professor at Western Michigan University, while pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Rainey`s artistic style has evolved over the years, transitioning from traditional art to digital art, showcasing his versatility and willingness to explore new mediums.
