`Breakaway` by Sue Cross is a stunning watercolour painting that captures the rugged beauty of the Australian outback. The painting transports the viewer to a vast, arid landscape with a large, gaping chasm that dominates the foreground. The chasm is filled with jagged rocks and boulders, creating a sense of raw, untamed nature. End of the Road, Denmark.

Tim Sewell — Fri, 28 Apr 2023 05:45:08 +0000

The painting `End of the Road, Denmark` captures a scene of decay and nostalgia in a rural setting. The artist has used oil paint on a 39cm x 29cm canvas to depict a junkyard filled with old cars and trucks that have been left to rust and ruin. The main focus of the painting is a red car in the foreground, which is covered in rust and peeling paint. The car appears abandoned, with weeds growing around its tires and vines creeping up its doors. In the background, the viewer can see more cars and trucks, all in various states of disrepair. Some vehicles have missing parts or broken windows, while others are completely engulfed in vegetation. The scene is a stark reminder of the passage of time, as these once functional machines are now left to rot in a field. The muted colors and realistic style of the painting add to the sense of melancholy and desolation. The artist has captured the stillness of the scene, with no signs of life or movement. The sky above is a deep blue, with fluffy white clouds drifting in the distance. Overall, `End of the Road, Denmark` is a powerful reflection on the impermanence of objects and the inevitability of decay. It evokes a feeling of nostalgia for a time when these cars were in their prime, and a sense of sadness for their current state. The painting serves as a reminder of the passage of time and the importance of cherishing the moments we have before they too fade away.
