I am a self-taught artist, who is on a constant journey of learning to stop controlling her artwork. My brain lives in a constant world of chaotic color. I do not paint with color theory in mind – just “measure with my heart”
I work, mostly, with acrylics but, dabble occasionally in mixed media. I love piling on color until things feel a little wild and a little out of hand. The mess matters to me. Layers build up like years do—nothing really disappears, it just changes.
I started my full dive into the art world about three years ago, shocking most of my family, but really focusing on it a year and half ago. I have always had a creative side to myself but never showed the drawing or painting side that I knew I had in me. I allowed too many years of rhetoric in my head of “being judged and never seeing myself good enough” to put my art onto a public stage.
I mostly paint animals. If asked, three years ago if I would love doing animals as much as I do – I would have said a very loud, very resounding “NO”! But, my path was not dictated by own doing but what the universe said I should create. Who am I to argue?
I like animals because they’re honest and instinctual, not worried about explaining themselves. They belong in the chaos, the same way we all do
Simply said - COLOR is what drives everything I make. I use it boldly and without apology. Getting older hasn’t made me quieter—it’s made me braver. These pieces are about letting go, trusting the process, and finding something real inside all that noise.
