Details of the original artwork
Wheat field. Oil Paint on Canvas Board. Dated 1990.
In the foreground perspective is bent so the viewer is looking vertically down on some wheat plants, with the heads of wheat prominent in the painting, the perspective regains its normal character as the midground of the wheat field recedes into the background farming land, were the perspective is almost back to normal, showing the harvesting operation, rolling farmland, and distant clouds set against a warm blue sky.
The Artist says “Painted for an exhibition themed Harvest Time, this depicts the humble seed head that drives the Australia wheat industry, and the mind numbing expanse of the wheatfield when taken from the perspective of a single plant. In the distance is the harvester and field silos common at harvest time, and on the horizon a distant storm threatens adding a sense of urgency. The painting won first prize.”
Coffee mug designs are created from the artists original artworks, and applied to the coffee mugs in Perth WA. Coffee mugs are dishwasher safe.
