This is a painting about my relationship with Clare. During my early recovery I first painted it in mostly black and red. Several years later when I was more fully recovered I added more colour and depth and changed some of the elements. Maybe in some way this work charts the story of my recovery and of a changing an improving relationship with a life partner. Our three kids are part of this work too – it’s easy to guess.
