I’m a representational artist. In this painting I wanted to capture my feelings of coming home to my original culture, my birth place.
Welcoming homes, table laden with good food, warm people still steeped in ancient customs, narrow cobblestone streets reminiscent of the Romans. This I tried to encapsulate in this work.
I placed the table and the food as the central focus to emphasise the importance it has in Italy’s culture.
It is the meeting place where at the end of the day everyone gathers and shares their experiences, their happiness and troubles.
