Western Suburbs Open Studio Network

The Western Suburbs Open Studios Network (WSOSN) is a group of independent artists working or resident within the Western Suburbs of Perth who have by invitation joined the WSOSN for the purpose of co-ordinating their efforts to bring their work to the notice of the general public. This may include organising and publicising an Open Studios Event (‘event’) from time to time. The WSOSN acts as the point of reference and facilitator, and may arrange for publicity, advertising, signage and brochures etc. for an event the cost of which will be divided equally between the artists participating in that event. All participating artists are expected to assist in the organisation of an event and to attend meetings which may for convenience be held by zoom. Each participating artist is personally and exclusively responsible for the safety and security of their premises and the public and compliance with all legislation and regulations which may apply. Public Liability Insurance is required as it is unlikely that normal household insurance will cover. If a participating artist wishes to provide the general public with refreshments this should not be charged for. However voluntary donations are permissible. Parking for visitors should be addressed and it is recommended that neighbours are notified. VooGlue’s payment facilities for art purchases are provided by VooGlue for participating artists. WSOSN has no financial interest or responsibility in connection with a payment or other contractual arrangements between a participating artist and members of the public or other participating artists. Participating artists are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and so as not to damage the reputation of WSOSN. If the continued involvement of a member is considered to be incompatible with the best interests of WSOSN that artist will be removed from participation in the group .
