This is a painting done half plain air and half in the studio. I set my easel up and began to paint the riverside scene. The sky was moody and grey but there was a grand opening with light beams streaming through the clouds. I’m quite confident my painting ended with some slight rain that trickled on the canvas.

The painting continued in the studio where I added elements here and there. I love the tiny red boat at the other side of the river and the greenish blueish bench perfect sitting beside the river for quiet contemplation.

I hope the viewer finds something to contemplate here as they “sit by” the river in a small way. This is a tiny speck of a beautiful town by the river.
