This is a work of art inspired by the Murrin Murrin region. Murrin Murrin is a mine situated in the Northern Goldields near Leonora and Laverton. It is a beautiful part of Western Australia.

The rock formation is unique in that it juts from the sand. I like to add more detail to the subject and leave the rest as a series of directional dash. The under layer is a burnt sienna with marks of copper for a glint in the light from different angles.

This painting means a lot to me as it is a part of the world where I spent a good chunk of my life.
