John van Loon is a dedicated and experienced watercolour artist with a lifelong passion for painting. He discovered his love for art at a young age and has been honing his skills ever since. Inspired by the works of artists such as David Taylor and Joseph Zbukvic, he found his niche in watercolour painting in his late twenties and has been actively pursuing this medium ever since. Over the years, John has developed a distinctive style that has evolved to become looser and more colourful in recent times. His paintings typically feature realistic landscapes, waterscapes, and urban scenes, capturing the beauty and tranquility of his surroundings with a keen eye for detail and a vibrant palette. In addition to his artistic pursuits, John is also a dedicated teacher, sharing his knowledge and passion for watercolour painting with others. For the past five years, he has been teaching classes at U3A in Glenhuntly, where he imparts his skills and techniques to aspiring artists. Throughout his career, John has held three successful exhibitions, showcasing his talent and garnering recognition for his work.
