Art Coffee Mug Bone China – Depicting Western Australian Wheatbelt Fields and Trees of Late Summer Sky Painting by Brian Carew-Hopkins

$19.99

The image on this coffee mug is of ‘Late Summer Sky’ a stunning oil painting that captures the essence of a peaceful rural landscape in late summer. The artist`s intention behind this piece was to convey the beauty and tranquillity of the Western Australian Wheatbelt region, where the fields of wheat sway gently in the warm breeze under the broad expanse of the sky. The painting perfectly captures the late afternoon sun, casting a golden glow over the landscape, with the trees standing tall and proud against the vivid blue sky. The artist skillfully uses bold brushstrokes to create a sense of movement and life in the painting, particularly in the way the clouds are painted in the sky. The colors chosen, such as the golden wheat and the deep green of the trees, evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth, inviting the viewer to step into the scene and experience the beauty of nature. One can almost feel the heat of the sun on their skin and hear the rustling of the wheat in the breeze when looking at this painting. It is a tribute to the land and the sky that stretches endlessly above it, a reminder of the simple joys and pleasures that can be found in the natural world. Late Summer Sky is not just a painting of a landscape; it is a work of art that speaks to the soul and stirs emotions within the viewer. It is a testament to the artist`s love for the land and the sky, and a timeless reminder of the beauty that surrounds us in the world.

From the Artist: This is one of my favourite paintings. Titled late summer sky, the late afternoon sun bathed the landscape in warmth under an alizarin-tinted sky. The tree trunks glowed red in the late afternoon light after a baking day. I painted it in 2014 and after that it hung in my mother’s home, then in her nursing home room, to remind her of her home in the Western Australian Wheatbelt town of Bodallin, where she was born, married, raised her family and lived most of her life. She loved this painting as it reminded her of home.
